Learning assignment #4
Self evaluation
The implementation has a structure where I explain the context, need and aim. I think it's easy to follow, understandable but may be a little shallow for an outsider to completely grasp the idea. The target group is defined by age, gender and location, and that is something that I could have expanded on. I know that that target group is a group that often first seeks for help for their own parents, and the parents that they seek help for are our clients. Our clients are not the ones that we mainly try to target on social media, but their children and grandchildren.
I think the selected tools and environments fit together. They are the medias that we use, and I really wanted this course to give support to the work I already do at our company. I wanted to pick out a realistic case, and this exercise helped me consider and create a plan how to move forward with out pop-up day.
I could improve the content of the implementation in the future by adding more detail and theory. Even with saying that, I think that the plan I created helped me prepare for the pop-up day. Even if it is not all written on the text, I did a lot more thinking that I would've normally done, as I am a person who likes to "wing it on the spot".
During this course I started paying more attention to the analytics of our social media tools. I still couldn't find the statistics of our blog, but I will have to look more into it. I got more familiar with Facebook for Business tools, marketing our posts, following the statistics on Instagram and learnt from our competitors on the field. At the beginning of this course I realized how little understanding I have of so many different platforms and medias, but I also quickly understood that I can't possibly learn everything at once. It turned out to be a good choice to expand my own knowledge on fields that are already quite familiar to me, but want to learn more and get more depth to my understanding.
I see social media as a superpower in our field. We have many others who are doing the same thing as we are, so we have to stand out to our target groups in more ways than one. We need to show them who we are, and not just give empty promises. On social media it is easier to become more approachable, when they already know "who we are" even if they don't personally know who we are. That's the beauty (and curse) of social media - it gives the illusion of being friends and being in touch, when in fact you are just following the content they're releasing. In our field it's a strength.

I joined this course wanting to get backbone to the work I do, and I feel like I've gotten that. I've learnt to follow and analyse the things our competitors and other companies do on social media, and learnt to pick out things that I want to apply to our social media use. I've learnt to look at things in a more critical way - especially when talking about privacy and copyrights. I've become more confident in my work, because I feel like I can better justify the decisions I make regarding social media.
Thank you!
